I am interested in the ability of art to act as form of language, a way for an individual to work through life’s complex experiences by translating events through the prism of creation.

I am particularly interested in interpreting the way women are perceived in contemporary western culture and in the arc of history that has formed modern ideals of female behavior.

Creating artwork with historically gendered processes and materials as a way to explore and analyze the constraints of gender lends conceptual underpinning and a layer of ironic humor to the work.

For me, concept, process and material are inextricably connected.
