NYC Jewelry Week
Queering Masculinity
November 16-22, 2020
What happens when sports, masculinity, and violence collide with meticulous beading? Find out how ideas of body and adornment can question ideas of masculinity and maleness all while moving across disciplines in this conversation between Rebekah Frank, Demetri Broxton, and matt lambert, two artists who apply meticulous surface texture to unexpected objects. This recording will be available throughout NYC Jewelry Week, with a special informal event to connect with the artists on Discord (TBA).

Rebekah is a jewelry artist based in the Mission of San Francisco. Her chosen material is steel, a fascination discovered through a challenge received when she was 18, and her creative practice has focused on that material ever since, working as a blacksmith, a welder, a machinist, and, currently, a jeweler. She received her MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2012 and a BFA from Texas State University in 2010.
